Sharon L. Killion
Sharon started working in the financial services industry by helping Dallas I.S.D. teachers and other area school district employees plan for retirement in 1996. Before this Sharon sold national advertising for USA TODAY newspaper for 7 ½ years. Sharon also taught 9th grade English for 3 years. Her teaching experience has been vastly helpful in her truly understanding educators and school district employees’ financial needs and goals. Sharon posses both a Master’s Degree from SMU and a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Texas at Dallas.
Sharon holds the prestigious financial designation Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) from The American College of Financial Services, Bryn Mawr, PA. It is the most complete and comprehensive program available to professional financial advisors looking to help their clients create sustainable retirement income. The courses covered helps advisors master retirement income planning, a key focus area not fully covered in other professional designation programs.
Using the most current techniques, RICP®'s identify retirement income needs and objectives and evaluate a client's current situation relative to those goals. Advisors who earn a RICP® can provide expert advice on a broad range of retirement topics including income needs and objectives, estate issues and other risks to retirement income planning, Social Security, health insurance and housing decisions, and income taxation. Sharon is also a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from The American College of Financial Services. She completed a three year, nine course curriculum covering investments, Retirement Planning, Financial Planning, Estate Planning, Insurance Planning and Tax Planning. She also holds the financial designation of Certified Fund Specialist (CFS) from The Institute of Business and Finance.
Sharon loves her clients and feels it’s important for them to build a strong financial portfolio to help them ensure they have a secure retirement.
Sharon holds Series 6 and 63 securities licenses and is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisory Representative of the Independent Broker Dealer United Planners Financial Services. She also holds a Group One Insurance license in Texas.
Sharon lives in Dallas with her husband, Hank, and their adorable doggie, Bella. They enjoy travel, art, the outdoors and their families.
